Do you offer a guarantee on the Name a Star Program?
The Name a Star Package is backed by a 30-day money back guarantee. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your package, please mail it back and we will refund your money minus the cost of shipping.

How do I go about paying for the Name a Star Program?
There are three ways one can order the program. You can, (1) order thru our secure online shopping cart, which accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards, (2) sending a check or money order to our corporate address located on the "Contact Us" page, or (3) pick up the phone and give us a call and we will take your order over the phone. We do not process COD orders. All orders are processed only after payment has been received.

Do you offer a Memorial Package for our lost loved ones?
Yes, we do. The Standard Memorial Star package is only $49.95 plus shipping, the Deluxe Memorial Star Package is only $77.95 plus shipping and the Ultimate Star Gazer Memorial Package is only $107.95 plus shipping.  These packages include everything in the above mentioned Packages plus an additional sympathetic cover letter expressing the Star Foundation’s deepest condolences for the family and friends of the deceased and one Memorial Star Lapel Pin.  Additional lapel pins may be added to your order at the cost of $10.00 each to share with family and friends.

What is the Memorial Star Lapel Pin?
The lapel pin is 3/4 of an inch in actual size and can be worn in remembrance of your loved one. The lapel pin is in the shape of a star and is creatively engraved with a dove inside of a heart.

Can I make a change to my certificate after I have ordered?
Yes, you can.  The fee for any changes after your order has been submitted is $15.00.  To go about requesting those changes you must send an e-mail to: info@starfoundation.net and in the e-mail please include your order # and all changes requested.

When will my package ship?
Your package will ship within 24 hours of being placed.  If your order is placed on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, the package will be shipped out on Monday.

Can I order the First Light Astronomy Kit as a separate item?
Yes, you can.  The cost of the Astronomy Kit is $29.95 plus shipping. In this package you get a uniquely designed low-distortion planisphere, the book, Exploring the Night Sky with Binoculars, Sky Atlas for Small Telescopes and Binoculars, a three-year planet locator, a three-year daily moon phase calendar, a reference card on comets, a table of the best meteor showers, and an observing log master page to be duplicated to start a well-organized observing logbook. Your kit will come beautifully packaged in a 9 X 12 heavy-duty two-pocket folder to be saved and used for organizing and protecting your astronomy materials.

The charity that I would like a portion of the proceeds given to is not listed on your website?
Unfortunately, we only give a portion of the proceeds to the charity partners listed on our website. We have marketing agreements with these charitable organizations and they work very hard to promote us to their supporters. It is only fair that they benefit from our unique program.  

I think my charity organization would like to get involved with the Star Foundation. What can I do?
If you know of an organization that needs help with their fundraising efforts we would love to talk to them about our unique partnership opportunity. Send e-mail to info@starfoundation.net and include the name of the organization and any contact information you may have.

Can I choose the constellation I would like my star named?                                         Unfortunately, because of the way our star database names stars you cannot choose the constellation you would like your star named.

Is the Star Foundation the only organization that can name stars?                                          The Star Foundation's products are intended for the sole purpose as a unique "novelty" gift one can share with their friends and family. Only the International Astronomical Union has the authority to assign names to stars, but they only recognize stars by assigning them numbers. The Star Foundation internally recognizes and acknowledges the names it assigns to stars in the Star Foundation Archives and will never name a Star more than once. The Star Foundation also acknowledges the fact there may be people who do not officially recognize the names they assign to the stars.  We have no control over any other entity operating a similar service or the business of any scientific, governmental or other body.

How does the Star Foundation determine the percentage that goes to its Charity Partners? The percentage that goes to our Charity Partners is determined by the percentage of advertising dollars that were spent to acquire a Star order. We have designated 25% of each Star order's proceeds to go towards advertising. If an order originates directly from our website or Charity Partners website we pay the Charity Partner the entire 25% of the Star proceeds. If an order originates from one of our marketing campaigns, we pay the Charity Partner 25% of the Star proceeds minus the cost of the marketing campaign. Our marketing campaign cost are always varying, therefore the amount we pay our Charity Partners also varies.                                   

Can I name a Star after my pet?
Yes, you are allowed to name a Star after anything or anyone.

I think its great you work directly with charitable organizations! Why do you give such a large percentage of the proceeds to these charitable organizations?
The Star Foundation has marketing partnerships with their charity partners and is very proud to be able to work directly with these organizations in order to support their causes.
